- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I took my almost 3 year old son to Dr. Dave. The recommendation was porcelain crowns on his front teeth. The cost was outrageous, but it needed to be done. The day of the procedure, he was given an oral sedative, which he vomited up before they even began. I told the nurse he vomited, and she said it shouldn't be an issue. (Which I didn't understand because he threw it up almost immediately after taking it.) The procedure started, and he was doing great. The numbing shot was fine, and I was so proud of him. Then something must have hurt and he started crying and yelling, "Take them off! Take them off! Mommy!" and Dr. Dave yelled at him, "You do NOT talk to your mother that way! You HAVE to stay still!" Then he looked at me and very agitatedly said, "Do you want me to finish????" and I saw dollar signs and thought about how I'd have to pay for this all over again if we didn't finish, and said to proceed. Then he yelled at my son some more and then threw his arms up in the air and said, and I quote, "Well, they're on there. They may be crooked, but they're on there. I mean, you saw how he was acting." And the finished product was horrifying. The crowns were ENORMOUS on his sweet little mouth, and of course, crooked. The cost was out of control, the emotional toll it took on my son and me was awful, and then I had to take him to another dentist who said there was too much air between the crowns and his teeth because they were too big for him. And guess what? It ALL had to be redone. Guess who paid for it? Me again. I will NEVER take my kids there again. I have never left a negative review on any business before, because I'm aware at how detrimental they can be. But I just can't be silent about this. It was so horrific from start to finish. And the fact that I had to pay for it to be done wrong, and then pay for it to be done properly elsewhere is what really gets me.July 20, 2017by Chelsea Hooper
